Racism are prejudices against other nationalities, races or people who do not share the same belief or culture that we have grown up with and passed on from generation to generation.

I think racism is a bit over used and a super sensitive word that get bandied around way too much... I have seen people being called racist because the person they don't like is of a different colour, of course it couldn't have anything to do with the fact that is is just a plain nasty person, people should be able to state an opinion of their dislikes without being branded a racist, I have seen people of the minority say just as bad things about the majority but it is usually the majority only that gets called the racist, this was explained to me once that the laws for racism is to protect the minority groups, but there is a lot of reverse racism that I have seen, its all bad if it is intense but people should not take a little critism as being racist in a lot of cases...

I take alot of respect and admirations for other cultures, other people and races-for instance, one of the races I simply admire are the Indians of the Americas, the Chinese, the Japanese, the Mongols, the Arabs and the Aborigines. Sometimes when I watch documentaries that feature other cultures, I simply shudder in admiration at the beauty of the difference in this world-Ofcourse,over emphasis of differences of race, tend to stem from from past or present relationships between the races. If one race was exploited, killed, enslaved and victimized by the other-then any deep seated racial innuendos can be appreciated though not tolerated because it is born out of the unequal past relations. I for instance have my great admiration for Europeans, their past involvement in the enslavement and exploitation of Africans not with standing, but I have a big mind to realize that these vices were committed at a completely different age and time-it is only an act of stupidity to habour racial feelings against a Briton born in 1987 when slavery of my forefathers by the likes of Emin Pasha happened in 1887!! So I want frankly to say, am mortal but racism would Never, Never cross my mind!

I think it is appropriate to be proud of ones own culture and to believe it is the most appropriate one. The trick is to allow other cultural groups to practice their things without fear of reprisal. What I do believe is that some groups are far more intollerant than others. As an Australian it annoys me to think that some counties believe us to be a racist nation. We allow just about all people and practices unlike Islamic countries for example whose practices must at best be thought of as bizarre.
