i know a lot of people too who drink coffee after having a meal. they say it helps in faster digestion of food. i don't think drinking tea after a meal is bad. in fact, i think its good because tea helps in cleaning our stomach and maybe in our digestion too. ^__^

Hello dear subha. I usually drink tea when I go to work in the office both in the morning and in the afternoon, but when I am at home having a rest, I drink tea from morning till afternoon. I don't see that there is any harm to my health. I hope not. Thanks for your discussion. Good night.

i haven't read or heard about this belief. why? in fact the japanese, chinese or vietnamese (i'm not huh) drink tea during or after eating any meal. i believe it's good for digestion. the only thing that i've notice with these nationals is the staining of their teeth - that is if they don't brush teeth regularly.

Generally it is not preferred immediately after lunch. Because, we Indians have a lots of spicy food and in addition tea also gets added, one feels quite uncomfortable. It is usual practice to have tea 2 or 3 hours after lunch. And along with tea, some snacks too.
