Aids in America

I just saw on the news last night that New York state is the state with the highest occurance of Aids in the United States and even if they didnt include New York City in the the mix New York state would still be in the top 10 for the highest amount of people with Aids. I found this very unsettling due to my living very close to NY. I suppose the closeness in proximity shouldnt really matter because Aids is horrible no matter where it occurs I would just like to be as far from it as possible. I fear my children or loved ones could contract it someday and being that close to the area where the most people are infected with it makes it more scary when raising children and trying to protect them.
