Storm is coming...how do you if you do at all prepare???

here in New England USA we are expecting a pretty decent size fall of snow and well i ran to walmart this evening to get a few extra shovels and some ice melt and well they were SOLD OUT where im from when people here storm they all immediately run out and stock up and 7 out of 10 tens the weather man is wrong lol (as if hes ever right) and well everyone was frantic for nothing so my question to you is you hear storm what do you do???? thanks in advance

We don't have snow storms here, being in sunny queensland, australia, but we have great electrical storms. This year, we stocked up on candles, special portable lights (just like a lamp, but on batteries) and have a laptop for entertainment! The only thing we haven't got yet, is a portable gas stove! I suppose, all the candles could be used for boiling water though! lol.
