Switching to digital book format?

I love books. When I left my husband, I had shelves and shelves fust bursting with all sorts of literature. Most got left, and I gathered he burned a lot to keep warm the next winter (grin). Anyhow, I still love to read, but I simply do not have the space to keep all of these books! I have thinned out to the bare minimum, and after their basic usefulness has left either tossed or sold them on ebay. I have taken to downloading some books from the Net, from places like project gutenberg, or other sites like the python site where I downloaded a couple of instruction manuals on the python computing language. The trouble is, I haven't fully figured out how to transition from hard-copy to digital, as far as bookmarks or my notes go. I'm notorius for writing and taking notes in my books, and then looking those up when I need to.... I found a helpful site: http://www.samizdat.com/guide.html Is anyone else here transitioning from paper to digital? Any tips or experiences would be greatly appreciated. L
