Why don't I want to *anything*?

I don't want to clean, cook, watch tv, or play on the computer. I don't *want* to decorate for Christmas this year. I don't *want* to bake or make candy. These are the things that I love to do. I am known for my Christmas goodies. What I would like to know is...what could be the possible reason? They have already upped my anti-depressants, but there is not much of a change. I explain it as-- my *wanter* is broken. I don't *want* to do much of anything. Thanks in advance.

Maybe you need a break or your just not in the mood. I have days like this myself. I am on anti-depressants myself. I am not sure if it is from the shots that I take or ms itself that makes me in a bad mood or depressed but I get in my moods also.

Maybe you just haven't gotten the Christmas spirit yet, I think once it gets closer to Christmas it will hit like a bus, I think they start things way too early and it takes the shine off it all, I am sure you will snap into it, but please don't go shopping for a present for me, nothing ove a $1000 or I will be embarressed....hahahahahahh

You are simply human with natural human emotions! Only you can control your emotional state. Please, stay away from additive substances!

your anti-depressants may be to strong and made you want to to a not want to. slack down on them and see if your want to comes back!

hmmm ... well i think u may have caught something i like to call the lazy sindrom(lol:P) it happens when u want to do something but u leave it and forget about it and it starts happening more often and u get used to relaxing and doing nothing so there appears a sort of "not wanting" or "boredom" but not exactly ... if it catches you u start to not be able to do anything even if u want to so u start to not want anything ... i suggest u just do what u liked before and do everything u think about without thinking "i'll do it tomorrow" or "but i don't want to" because it can get more intense and it would bring much pain to u and the ones around you ... if that's the case anyway:P

I am *forcing* myself to do my usual routine of the Christmas activities. I just wish that I would enjoy it more.

Well, Girl! At least you have your Christmas cards taken care of. Turn on some Christmas music and let it play a while. Maybe that will help a little. Have Bruce give you a little help decorating. Make ME some goodies. Go to Winter Wonderland....

I have already started decorating. I have had Bruce help me out with it. You make me smile. :-)

Psychologically you're obviously depressed. It could also be hormonal. Perhaps a blood work is in order.

well in my opinion i think its more serious rather then justy not having the christmas spirit. because cooking and cleaning is more then just christmas spirit thoes are things u have to do on a regular basis.. unless your just saying for christmas u dont want to... if u feel like this about everything even non christmas stuff.. mabey u should go look into depression as this could be some signs..

ive been like this for a while too. i dont want to do anything. i sit at home and watch tv and nothing motivates me. i do it for days even months on end. i just dont care to do anything and i dont mind. but then i think about it and it doesnt seem normal to not *want* anything. has anything recent happened that could ave caused this? maybe your mind is elsewhere? are you stressed out? maybe too stressed to enjoy lifes little things? most importantly does this bother you or better yet, does it bother you that it doesnt but it should?? maybe your meds are too much and have "zoned you out" so you dont feel. i have heard this a as a common complaint from people on meds to alter their moods. they are not happy or sad they are just "nothing". if you cant think of a specific reason or just snap out out if soon (i mean we are all allowed a little "i dont care mood" no and then ;) right?) i would see your doctor and tell him about your concern. i wish you the best of luck and hope you go back to your norm soon :-)

I don't feel my meds at all. It is like I haven't taken them at all. I am on 450 mgs of Wellbutrin.
