SAN JOSE - Costa Rica, a leader in eco-tourism and home to some of the world's rarest species, planted its 5 millionth tree of 2007 on Wednesday as it tries to put a brake on global warming. President Oscar Arias shoveled dirt onto the roots of an oak tree planted in the grounds of his offices, reaching the milestone in the Central American nation's efforts to ward off what some experts say are the first signs of climate change.

This shows that there is a strong consciousness of the environment all over the world. I notice you post on news like this from several sources. I am a tree planter, and a tree lover. I would challenge all readers to plant trees and protect the environment where they live, and where they are, to help us preserve the environment.

You can plant trees in pot. Put them outside rather than inside your house. How trees stop global warming? Trees inhale carbon dioxide and exhale oxigen. This world will be less warmer when less carbon dioxide in our sky/air.. maybe someone else can explain better..
