A Friend Indeed

No leader succeeds on his own. Even David needed his Jonathan. In the dark days when he fled to escape the threats of King Saul, David turned to his friend for strength and encouragement. At great risk to himself, Jonathan, hoping to pacify his father and reconcile the king to his friend, spoke well of David. And for a short while Saul relented, promising that David would not die by his hand. Soon Saul's old animosities reasserted themselves; and Jonathan once again risked his life to help his dear friend. Jonathan remained faithful to his comrade until the very end of his life. Do you have someone who "strengthens your in God?" All leaders need loyal friends who can help them to persevere through the tough times. - J. Maxwell

The Holy Bible says two heads are better than one. But it does not mean that we cannot do things alone especially suffering and hardships. All the apostles of the Lord fled when He was to be arrested. And He even called His Father and said Why did thou forsake me but of course God did not forsake Him.

I honestly think that you wouldn't be rooted in your faith the way you are with out your brothers and sisters of faith. No matter if you are new to any faith or a long time follower. You have to be active in the church and with other members so that way you can be always surrounded by your faith.

Hi Ngippol, I do have many wonderful Christian friends who support and encourage me in my faith and walk with Jesus Christ. But I have to say my mom is my greatest supporter and encourager here on earth. Jesus, of course, is the Greatest of all! We need to encourage one another to stay strong in our faith in the Lord. God gives us good friends. He is so good...ALL the time! God bless:)

If you read that story even closer, you will see that David and Jonathan were more than just friends. There are lots of clues about their relationship.
