Minangnist - west sumatra

have you been in West Sumatra Indonesia? People of west sumatra are minangnist ethnic in major. they are very unique. not like other tribe in indonesia that is patrilineal, they are matrilineal, that's why their relationship to woman in family is very close. they have beautiful landscape & culture too that they sell for tourism. tell me if you've been there.. What do you think of the place & the people of west sumatra.

I have never been there at Sumatra island. i understand it was a great island. There is the famous Malin Kundang statue and the Toba lake and the food that famous the its one i like named empek - empek palembang. yum yum....

Hi diansinta, i can't believe it. that you've never been in sumatra before. there are so many interesting place with different culture and food. Empek empek is one of the famous food from sumatra. not to mention rendang, other sumatran food. Why don't you and family try visiting sumatra sometimes?

empek -empek palembang - empek -empek palembang kapal selam
empek - empek palembang is the best! mylot friends should be know this kind of food in Indonesia taste great!! who want to know about that food is made of flour with tengiri fish with sour sauce. Hm.. delicious i want it right now! and i don't have to go far to Sumatra island for eat it, because here in Bali island also have it.

yes. you can have empek-empek almost everywhere in indonesia. because it's famous and taste really good. i'll get for my own after office hours. have a good eat diansinta

hi siZidni, yes, I've been there in year 2000 with my friends all ladies. It's beautiful places. We went to all around west sumatera starting from bukit tinggi and ended in Padang city. we stayed at my friend hometown Koto Gadang. after that we went to twins lake called Danau Atas and Danau Bawah and try somes lokal fruits "Markisa" and "Terung Belanda". that's the first time I saw the Markisa and Terung Belanda trees. I also tried the local fish (sorry I forgot the name).
