Disney World vs Disney Land

Anyone been to Disney World at Florida and Disney Land at California? What's the difference? I read that Disney World is much much bigger. I've only been to Disneyland at California and couldn't even finish the whole theme park. I have been wanting to visit Disney World and I guess I have to spend a few days there.
