Heart vs Mind

"If you cannot get someone off your mind,...it is maybe because he/she is supposed to be there....
remember:
the mind can recognize what the heart is tryin to deny..."
Is this really true???How about...lets take for instance... that you are trying to forget him/her because you have to,and because that you are commited to someone else...how's this????

really? i thought it was the other way around... the heart can recognize what the mind is trying to deny :-)

when torn between heart and mind, i always remember what my friend told me back in college - "you don't have control of your emotion, but you can control your reaction". and i can't agree more. most people would always say "that's why the mind was placed higher than the heart", so it would rule over someone's feelings. of course this pertains to choosing doing the right thing when you tend to be swayed by your wrong emotions. such is called wisdom :)
