Heartburn, do not eat much cheese or onions any other causes

I have started to get heartburn. Cheese and onions do not affect me that much, but I suspect that it was that almond liquer that my husband bought and those magic fudge I made. I was wondering whether I am correct in my assumption? Could someone tell me if there are any other things I should be away of rather than being afraid of swearing sweaters with semipolo necklines? I rather like lower necklines, anything that does not touch my neck.

I am not sure what your neckline on a sweater would have to do with acid reflux. I have experienced severe heartburn off and on since age 20 and I am now 47. By severe I mean I will wake up at night gaging and choking and vomit my stomach contents. I have found that spicy food can cause a flair up as well as a plain slice of bread. Coffee is a culprit also and strong tea. I can drink 1 cup of coffee in the morning, maybe 2, but if I drink a third I am guaranteed heartburn by 10AM. Peanuts are another cause of indigestion/heartburn for me. I can eat mixed nuts or just cashews or pecans but not peanuts. I can however eat peanut butter. My biggest heartburn cause is stress. I can be on medication and heartburn free for months and a stressful situation that lasts days arises and it hits. Even the prescription med will not work. I have had to find ways of calming and relaxing myself during stressful times, such as now with the ice storm in full force and half of my family without power and heat. It seems each person has his or her own triggers for heartburn. I hope this info helps you.

It could be stress. I have not been able to practice my singing because I do not have a piano and our organ is in the computer room and my husband does not allow me to practice and I had to listen to his listening to Harry Potter and he put the speaker on loud. He bought some almond liquer I love almond but just a little. I want to get something nice for my granddaughter, my sons, and my daughter-in-law, but I cannot afford to. Last year me and my husband had to combine gifts and I wanted to get something separate from myself.

I have acid reflux or heartburn. Anything spicy effects me or if I eat to much of it it makes me sick. I take medication from my doctor and also prolosic OTC helps me a lot also. I hope you get to feeling better.

anything spicey will trigger heart burns and even fat of anyform mayit be cheese or too much oily stuuff or deep-fried eatables will trigger it.but onions shud not be included in the list of burn triggers as it is coolent.yes ur magic fudge along with cheese and the liquer is a lethal combination for a hear burn.so limit ur intake of spices and heavy fats.

It is probably too much sugar. I do not eat that much myself.

I will try that. It could also be white bread.

Tomatoes and pasta do not affect me, but liquer and too much sugar and chicken fat do. I have to find what else does.

Oh I'm so sorry.....I used to have heartburn all the time and even things like milk(which for the most part used to help with it)started giving me heartburn. The worst thing for me is anything that contains tomatoes or citrus. Those are just a few things you might to want to cut back on.I have been taking Prilosec for several weeks now and my heartburn rarely breaks through anymore.

I have not had Rolaids, but next time we go shopping, we will try to pick it up. I heard it is good and I did not have any of the almond liquer yesterday, and this mornng, my heart burn was not as bad.

Rolaids work way better than Tums....if you can stand the taste.....get some liquid Mylanta. It works the best....I just hate that feeling of having a mouthful of liquid chalk......but anything is better than having heartburn. It could have very well been the almond liquore.....I don't drink much....so I can't say for sure.

They are usually cheaper than Tums as well.I always stick with the mint flavored ones....they cool and sooth a bit more when you swallow them.

I had the worst heartburn of my life just the other day. I know it was from drinking butter ripple schnaps. I don't get heartburn very often, and when I do it is usually from liquer. I don't drink very often and this just gives me another reason to not drink. I thought I was going to die, the pain was so bad. I thought I may be having a heart attack, but no, it was heartburn. I drank about 4 tablespoons of vinegar and it took it away almost instantly. Try it, you will be surprised how quickly it works. Make sure it is white vinegar.
