Do All Restaurants Donate Left Over Food to Soup Kitchens?

I've been thinking about homeless people a lot since the weather is turning cold, I worry even more. I wondered if restuarants donated left over food at the end of the day, to soup kitchens. I would hope they do and not just throw the food away.

I do know of one caterer, that does, and a couple of restaraunts, but in many cases, most will not due to the fact that they could end up being sued if someone was elegic to something the may have used when cooking the food. I do agree that there are many places that would benefit from this.

It would be great if they would, but I know that most restaurants do not donate the left over foods to shelters or soup kitchens. I actually asked a couple of the wait staff for some of the high end restaurants what they did with their left overs. To my dismay, they said they throw it out because their owners won't donate it to anyone. This made me angry. There are sooo many people who could benefit from this food, but people don't seem to look at it that way. I wish there were a way to rectify this situation, but I don't really see it happening. ~~Taz~~
