Steroids! 1st Bonds, now Clemens.

I was just ranting yesterday about todays sports "heroes" to my other half. To me sports heroes were men like Reggie Jackson. The Olympics were a goal for amateur athletes to compete in for their countries. Now it is a bunch of professionals, the country with the most money wins. I just don't think these guys on steroids are on par with people like Hank Aaron. Maybe they should allow steroids in sports and even the playing field. I really don't think until that happens that these guys should be labeled heroes when they are in fact cheaters.

It is all about oversight and control. If there is an advantage to taking steroids and insufficient oversight, players will take them. They feel they must do so in order to keep hot in their careers. If no one takes them, that is better for everyone. On the other hand, I notice that the physically fit governer of California has early incidence of heart disease, which is a side effect of steroid use. Of course, he claims to have never done steroids, but...
