See the Philippines

Sweetpotato farm in Moncada, Tarlac - Sweetpotato in the lahar-laden areas of Moncada, Tarlac province grows very well. The rare farmer with access to capital can control more than 50 hectares of sweetpotato during the main growing season. Normally, a commercial sweetpotato farm would be 1-5 hectares.

I realized that it would be nice to share some of my pictures from Philippine travels. See them in the uploaded photos of this interest group, although some of them may not be mine, so I don't take credit for all the photos. But it doesn't really matter who posted them, does it? See the Philippines!

Oh, thanks for that tip, ssh123. I will keep that in mind. Next time I post, I will do that. But I do not take credit for the scenic pictures. So far, I have only posted the grounds of my current alma matter, the University of the Philippines in Los Baños. It is about 60 kms south of Manila - at least from the southern part of Manila. Los Baños is famous for the fabled Mt. Makiling, its hot springs, the headquarters of the International Rice Research Institute or IRRI, and the delicious "buko" (young coconut) pie. Yummm! Maybe I will post a picture of the pie next time. O, and it is along the rim of the Laguna Lake, the second biggest inland body of water in Southeast Asia (second to Indonesia's Lake Toba). It is a key body of water, and I can view it from a vantage point at my office's campus. Sadly, it is now very polluted.

Yes, the Philippines has very "photogenic" angles (hehe). Actually many pictures have been uploaded already by others, and it's a good thing because you get to see many places in the photos. The others really uploaded great pictures. My pictures are mostly everyday places, or ordinary angles of tourist places of which I have a few. I was only able to upload the UPLB grounds photo, because I hit the maximum for uploading. I will try again later. You will see more farms I guess, from me. Thanks for the comment! :D

Everything about Philipines appeals to me-am not surprised that it has such scenic pics! Check their women, they are extremely beautiful, check their great politicans, they are mostly women, popular women like Mrs. Aquino, Mrs. Aroyo, am sure what we see in the picture you downloaded is just a tip of the ice burg in terms of the physical beauty of that land!

Thank you, academic2. About the women ... AND the politicians (women politicians to be exact), I am not so sure what to say. But thanks, though, my friend. I am sure every country has its own share of this beautiful world - ozone hole or no ozone hole (haha!). I have met some Ugandans before, I am glad to "meet" another one here in MyLot. cheers!

Scenery - A beautiful view of Baguio.
There are really many beautiful places in the Philippines. And as if we have gone to the places already if we see pictures. Baguio City and the adjacent places have many beautiful sights. I studied there for one year and have seen some places.
