It is not my first time to have a baby.I know not all children are alike. You see, I have this issue of making my four month old child going to sleep during night time.I am not sure what makes him fret so much when going to sleep at night time.Tried singing lullabies, cuddle him an position comfortably, rock him, ensure diaper and clothes are not wet but still he is crying most of the time.I am pretty sure it is not gas pain as I ensure he burps after ecah feeding.Sometimes it takes at least 3-5 hours until he goes to sleep. It is exhausting for me and not good for my baby either, any tips for me to make my baby and I night time sleep a better one? Appreciate your recommendations.

I don't know what to suggest! We cosleep with out 3.5 month old daughter. At bedtime, I take her to bed with me, nurse her while laying on my side and we both fall asleep. She'll wake up to nurse a few times a night, but we're still pretty much asleep. Try taking a warm bath with your child?

We give Lily her bath at night. It helps her relax. Just make sure that your baby's head is dry before going to sleep or put a hat on him (not as desirable). If you're really worried about colds, bathe your child about 30 minutes before bed. That should be enough time for the hair to dry off.

I had that problem with my son when he was younger than your son. I don't know if its the same reason, but my son was teething when he was only a month old and didn't get any teeth through until he was 5 and a half months old. That stopped him from sleeping through the night most of the time he cryed until i put some teething gel on his gums and he went off after about 30 minutes. Some of the time i had to put some vapour rub on his chest and back even when it didn't seem like he had a cold, but it got him off to sleep. He also has asthma though, so some of his problems were that, but now he has an inhaler and he is ok. I don't know if any of this will help. ~Joeys wife

I guess the vapour rub would help. I know my 1st son have asthma too and it helped when I put vapour on his chest and back. He got asthma too.I had bought him an inhaler and that helped me a lot to resolve his asthma. Thanks for sharing.

My child loves the classical music, name it Mozart, Bethoven etc...But he does struggle to sleep.I bathed him today with the classical music on and a soft lighting in the room, it worked. It's now 3 hours he's asleep, almost!

Well, there are few things that I can advice... first, do not play with your baby few hours before his time to sleep. Do not make him laugh or giggle a lot. A good soft music can also enhance his mood. Lay down beside him... and touch his head softly back and forth... it will make him relax. Dont let your worry shows...as you bring him to sleep. He also feel that, making him disturb. I hope these will help.

Very well explained. Thanks lucky witch. You are right, you know when he starts getting restless when trying to get his sleep and I am stressed out with this, he gets more fretful. He giggles a lot especially when I talk to him, I guess I have to take note when is the appropriate time to talk to him.Not on sleeping time but at daytime when he is most awake.Could you believe he even talks when trying to get his sleep?

Make the day atmosphere more lively like a lot more sounds and activities with ,music ,TV or children I'd this very same problem with my 1st child because she thought the day began when everybody was back home in the night, u know they will wait for the last person to reach home even if it is in the middle of the night.
