I just saw the previews of the new Lonesome Dove mini-series which is to air in January. I am really excited over this because I am such a fan of the series. I have all of them but one. The new title is Comanche Moon, and it looks as though it will be well worth watching. Are there any Lonesome Dove fans out there? Which of the previous was your favorite? I think hands down my favorite was The Streets of Laredo.

your grandmother must be a fan of the Western, Aurone. I love epics, and I love Westerns, so I was hooked from the beginning.

Are you serious? Is this for real? Tell me you are not pulling my leg. Wow. I have four movies from this series and never tire of watching them. What channel will this be on? This is great news. I read the book Comanche Moon and several others in the series. I think I like "Return To Lonsome Dove" the best, but the first movie is hard to beat. I still need to get DVD's of the mini series that aired in the mid 1990's. Thanks for the info, for now there will be something worth watching on TV, that is other than "The Universe" on the History channel. You made my day, Worldwise1.

As you probably know by now, sigma, Comanche Moon has come and gone. My enjoyment of it would have been much more were it not for the cold symptoms I've been having, but I still enjoyed it immensely. They say it will be the last one, but I feel there is still more of the story that needs to be told-hopefully.

Yeah, it has come and gone. I saw bits and pieces of the first night, fell asleep into the first hour on the second, and totally missed the third night. I was going to record it, but figured I will buy it on CD when it comes out. I am sure it was great.

I have never seen any of them...I am ignorant of what it is about...I would love to see it if it is well done...I always loved the mini-series...it gave you something to look forward to...The North and The South was an all time favorite for me...long ago...but a good series...I'll have to check out Lonesome Dove...maybe it's available on DVD and I could rent it...I'm needing some good shows to watch while I pound out my 5 miles on the treadmill...

The Lonesome Dove series is a fine series for anyone who loves westerns, rx4life. I have seen the previous 3 on DVD, but the ones I have, I recorded myself. I would have recorded this one, but for the nasty cold that has been making life miserable for me lately.

I love Lonesome Dove. I've only ever seen the miniseries, not the weekly series, and I've read the original novels by Larry McMurtry many times. I'm really looking forward to the new one. My personal favourite though will always be the first one - Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones were fantastic in the main roles and no other actor has ever come close to their portrayals.

I have about worn out my tapes watching them over and over, phurren, but I have to say that, as much as I liked the first one, the second, Return to Lonesome Dove is my favorite. I don't think the third one got nearly the exposure it should have, but I do have part of it on VCR tape.
