Computer Technician NO longer for hire

Twenty years ago I graduated from technical school studying electronics and specializing in computer repair. Over the next 3 years I lost count of how many resumes I had sent out somewhere around 1,200, about 1 in 6 were rejection notices even though I have a genius level IQ and graduated with honors. My family wouldn't even help me out by letting me help them out by fixing their damaged electronics, I guess they thought I would break their broken equipment. Ten years later I started school again at a university studying computer science for 2½ years. Now my own girl friend won't even listen to me about her computer, I've only been programming since I was 9 years old, wtf could I know? I give up, obviously I don't know anything about computers or people and don't know what the hell it will take to get a job in the field.
