Israel has allowed almost 500 Palestinians from Gaza to make the Hajj pilgrimage. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/7146932.stm This is pretty good of them, considering that Gaza is controlled by Hammas which refuses to acknowledge Israel's right to exist!!

Israel against all odds not only continues to survive it continues to do the righteous thing. Any other country in the Mideast that faced what Israel has faced all these years, would have blown the offenders off the face of the earth. Instead, Israel allows them to pass to their Holy pilgrimage.

to the above poster - at one time we are told, what is currently Israel and far beyond was populated with Israelites. Its a blatant obfuscation of the situation to say that some people came, took land and called it theres. Some of them were living there already and all Jews originally come from Israel unless they converted. You express surprise that I praise the Israelis for giving medical care to those that want to and try to kill them, saying that these are standards we should all aim for - do you seriously think that if any Jew, Israeli, Westerener or even Shia Muslim was in need in the Palestinian/Arab controlled areas that they would be helped? Please. Don't you know that Jews, yes JEWS are not even allowed in to Saudi Arabia, they can't even distinguish between Jews and Israelis.

and as for Israel being a religious state - this may be so, but at least we have diversity, we have freedom and we have democracy in Israel. Would you rather one of its neighbours? Pick anyone you like - any one. I think you will find that every one of its neighbours has worse problems than it. Then there is Sharia law....ah yes, beautiful concept. Stonings, mutilations etc. This is what Hammas want for Palestine. Yeah, think I'll go with Israel as I value my head....

I agree, babykay, but watch out, you might be accused of descriminating here. I pointed out some truths that the mainstream media even says and I got the old, I am being descriminating..:)
