Creative wrapping.

Do you ever wrap gifts creatively, like putting something very small in a huge box, or putting it in a small box, and putting that inside a lager box, and then another larger box. Or do you wrap very tightly with lots of tape or ribbon so the recipient has a hard time opening it? I have seen it done before, and it can be funny. The only time I have done it is to disguise it because my husband is very good at guessing gifts. So one time I put a CD in a shirt box, and packed it so it wouldn't move. He was not able to guess that one before he opened it. Are there any other ways you have wrapped gifts 'creatively?'

I always wrap gifts creatively, switching around the boxes, adding paper or socks to a package, or throwing it into an odd container (small gifts sometimes go in toilet paper rolls. I like people to be like, hmmm, why am I getting this...and then yay! Plus it is more fun for me as well...

My mon always did that, she even wrapped gifts in cereal boxes sometimes. We would be like- 'Cheerios, wow, that's exciting.' But then of course there was something else in the box. She says she did it to make wrapping easier, but it made it interesting too.

I really do not wrap items in several boxes to hide the true idenity of the gift. When I was a teen, I wanted a typewriter so badly. When Christmas morning arrived, I had a huge heavy gift. I was not allowed to open it until everyone else unwraped their gifts. I was so excited! I just knew I got my typewriter. When I opened it, it was not a typewriter. It was a rock and I cried and cried. So I would never wrap a gift like that.

I would have cried too... It was a very bad joke that would have ruined my Christmas! I wouldn't do that either...

That's terrible. I understand why you feel that way. I would have cried too.

My ex husband and I used to put a small present in a big box with a brick in the box and sometimes even wrap the brick up so they think that is the present and after they opened the brick then give them the proper present to open. Or for a birthday wrap the present up 18 times for example if they are 18, 4 times if they are 4. It's a lot of fun.

I used to get creative but the last few years I'm just glad to get them out the door and mailed on time! When overseas I would take plain paper and stick (glue dots or tape) foreign currency and the kids would get a kick out of it. Also now that we give so many gift cards I try to disguise them so you at least have something to open - say put a rock in a box with it or something that makes noises.

That's a good idea, it makes opening gift cards more fun. I've also seen some pretty neat gift card holders in stores.

I love to do this. My husband thinks I'm off my rocker but he doesn't really care. I enjoy getting diffrent sized boxes or cans and wrapping them up and having a scavenger hunt. It's great. It's usually the last pressent and it's usually the best one.

Yeah, I don't do it with all the gifts, but with the best ones, to prolong the suspense.

wrapping of gifts creatively is very important as it makes it very precious and raises it's value to great extent .it's wrapping is the thing that raises excitment in one's heart about the gift inside. so always choose good gifts and wrap it properly

Wrapping a gift nicely does make it look nicer and more exciting to receive it.

I just wrap them. I get creative to match the person opening the gift. If it's someone that takes forever to open a gift and saves the wrapping paper, I go for a gift bag. Takes only a few seconds to open, there's no tearing and I don't have to wait forever for them to open it up. I'm terrible at wrapping gifts anyway, so I might end up with more tape on there than I expected. So, it all depends on what happens and how good at wrapping I am at the time. I don't really go for all the creative wrapping, like small boxes in large boxes. I thought about it a lot when I was younger, like doing it to my mother, but I never did because I never could find any boxes. Now, I just don't care. I wrap it and give it,lol.

Yes, well, sometimes it can be more work than it's worth.

yes, it is fun to do that. i think my dad is the king of wrapping that way. he always puts in screws or whatever to make extra noises in the present! i wrapped a pair of socks for my daughter in a toilet paper roll this year!! lol

I've done that too, but something in the box to make it heavy. Sometimes you gotta do those things to make it a surprise!

I used to do that years ago... I wrap a gift in many layers or sometimes i wrap an empty box. The look on people's faces after they open an empty box is just priceless.. Too bad I've finished wrapping all the presents this year before I read this. I would have played a major prank on my brothers if I got the idea before wrapping. Anyways... Hope you have a merry Christmas!

i love doing creative things i like to take white butcher paper or just plain white paper of any kind that will wrop the box and wrap it up in plain white and then draw and color on it to personalize the wrapping paper as well as the gift inside
