God is everywhere, in everything and all knowing all powerful. We are told that God works through people at times. But which times? Are all our actions a result of God working through us? If not,how do we know which ones are not from God? Therefore are we without real choice in life? What are your opinions on this.

yes babykay, some of our action was the result of god. As we know god is evreywhere and even in over body also. so he helps an guide us for our actions. There are some times when we are over confident and not able to here gods message due to our ego or misconception which moves us for diffrent work. This time god doesnot work with us.

I think many of our actions are a result from God working through us, but He leaves many choices up to us to see whether or not we will follow Him. Sometimes there are God's consequences based on our choices. He uses our experiences to work through us. I've been really going through some stuff lately, that I may feel is a learning experience from poor choices. I don't think it's a result from a sin, but a test to make me grow closer to God and follow Him the right way. God Bless!

So does it follow that some of the things you do you have no choice in, or it is not YOU actually doing them

I think all choices and actions are ours. The reason why God already knows who will be in His kingdom, is because He is all-knowing and knows who will choose to follow Him. I do think He might set up situations to make the "way out" only seem 1 way. It just makes it more obvious that He is watching out for us and for our best interest.

We ourselves are accountable for our own actions, not God. God gives us the wisdom to know what is right from wrong and God gives us the freedom of choice. It's up to us to choose, and if we choose to do good, very good, but if we choose to do bad, then we should not blame God for bad results. Of course, God works through people as instruments to do His will and we cannot do anything if He chooses us to do it like Jonah who refused but still God made him do what He wanted. Anyway, God is always good and He will never make us do anything bad and we should be grateful if God chooses us to be the instruments to do His will.

But if God is omnipotent and therefore able to do whatever He wants or not to do, therefore Him not stopping bad things like earthquakes and child abuse must mean that He is doing something bad.

BabyKay, While I am pagan, I still believe in a Universal Law, that some may choose to call God. It seems to me that you are having a spiritual rebirthing at this time and that is most wonderful. You are beginning to seek and search for answers which will lead you on a most satisfying journey. You will also be taken on a wild roller coaster ride, so do hold on tightly! One of the things that drove me mad was "If God/Goddess/Universe, etc. knew what our wants/needs were before we asked for them, what then was the reason for prayer"? We each have our own unique set of questions to ask and must find the answers on our own - which does not mean that you cannot seek the advice of others; seeking advice is part of finding answers. If you have a minister/pastor or some spiritual counselor, I would advise you to ask this question of him/her for their input and never take anyone's opinion as the one and only Truth! You will know and feel that Truth when it comes to you. It will speak to your heart. Many happy blessings on your path ~Donna
