Video games can be dangerous

Do you know that video games can have adverse effects on kids and teenagers? At those age, they are not matured enough to differentiate between good and bad and would depend a lot on their emotions rather than common sense.
This was what happened in Colorado where two teens beat a 7-year-old girl by imitating the Mortal Kombat video game.
"Two teens have been charged with killing the 7-year-old sister of one of them by beating her with imitations of moves from the "Mortal Kombat" video game, prosecutors said."
What do you think of that? Do you have kids that love video games? Do you allow them to play those violence games?

In fact nothing can be perfect. It will have its advantage and at the same time the disadvantage is available. In fact video games are so attractive. Even if adults can't control themselves to be addicted to it. So it is hard for children to control themselves.

yeah! i really know that, its because of the radiation from the video games,and the bad effect of this games for kids.much better for kids is to play some educational games like.puzzles and watch some educational cartoons like barney and dorah the explorer. they are all good enough for kids, they are all educational.even those alphabets,numbers,colors and shapes they are all good to play or watch that video.

as the years pass by it seems the music and video industry is getting worse and getting blamed more for peoples violent acts. I believe it is their fault...they are bringing violence into the kids minds and they wanna try to be in the game so they act out like they see on the video games/music videos. wasnt it marylin mansons video getting blamed on the columbine shooting? i had just seen a thing on tv where they are saying video games are a pain reliver. It can take your mind away from the pain.

Actually there is nothing wrong with video games. The only problem is the person or persons who gets hold of them. Like for example if kids got hold of them and play them without parents supervision and maturity then chances are is that they would imitate it and apply it to real world.

yes,this is a tragic happend,i dont know what happend round me about the kids and teenagers.coz sometime i only contact with adult,but i know some kids and teenagers like the games.so i wish some parents can guide their babe play the game,give more attention to them.wish you have a good day and merry christmas

I have to disagree, for the most part. I know many people, including myself, who played video games as children, teenagers, AND adults, and none of us have snapped directly as a result from video games. It is true that video games can aid in isolation. It depends on so many other factor. A person who is sensitive to violent tendencies may be triggered by a game, but with help and early treatment may not take the games as seriously.
The games are just that -- games.
I agree it's absolutely terrible that people imitate games to inflict violence, but it is not the games' fault.
