What is a yam

A yam is an orange sweet potatoe. They are delcious. You can also buy them in a can. You see them in the stores near holiday time. Also, a yam can be an animal. I don't know much about it. Hope this helped!

They are much better fresh than canned. I usually don't eat them but my wife loves them.

The Yam which is sometimes mistaken for a sweet potato is not orange but yellow on the inside. It is smaller and sweeter than a sweet potato..
