too emotional

I've been wathcing desperate women recently.Though some lines perfectly described the soul of life,it seems to me that people in it are too emotional,too careful with their own feelings,and too complicated.They expose the dirty parts of life and relationships among people. I just don't konw whether it's an exaggeration of American life.Really,it frightens me.What do you think?
