Mars is looking brighter in the night sky and is actually comparing with brighter stars like Sirius. http://www.space.com/spacewatch/071214-ns-mars-closest.html I'm just hoping for a moderate temperature night or two to go along with this. Can't wait to just sit, relax and see the stars. Of course I'm probably asking a little too much of the weather, but its been mild for winter around here and maybe I will be able to just lay outside and stargaze this winter (without freezing).

Heh heh. Completely understandable Gabs. I did get a chance to sit out and gaze at the sky, but the problem was it was cloudy -_-. Well, that wasn't too much of a downer. I still enjoyed the weather and a nice drink at my side. I'll probably try again tonight too.

Good luck, and yes I have been amazed by mar's magnatude. Its beuty is unsurpased in the night sky as far as veiwing the heavens with the naked eye. although the comet was very thrilling to behold as it broke up and became the greates magnatude in the early morning skies.

Agreed. There is something great about the planet and about the night sky of course. Hopefully I can see something nice during my gazing.

I ate some Mars rock years ago. I had a sliver of Zagami. (Zagami is one of the first identified Mars rocks) I snapped it in half because I was selling half of it off. (it was worth a bit of money, still is too). A few crumbs were left. The other bloke said, "What are you going to do with those?" I licked the palm of my hand and ground it up. Yum.
