Cilantro seeds should be sown just like lettuce seeds, just barely covered. They like almost the same conditions cool and damp but not water soaked or standing in water. Since the seeds are so small you can put some in with fine sand and mix them (sand and seeds) so that you do not put the seeds down too thick.

mm cilantro - my son planted some in a 5 gallon bucket and set it on the roof of the house and I had cilantro 9 mos of the year! it came back year after year just from the seeds. he just used regular potting type soil. couldn't be easier

A pot on the window sill will do but the cilantro will need light. Good luck!
