You can download a 30-day free trial antivirus such as Kaspersky or Symantec. Use this antivirus to scan your machine. Don't forget to update first your antivirus software. For free AV antivirus software, you can download Avira AntiVir Personal Classic Edition at their official website at www.free-av.com :-)

There are a lot of anti virus out there that you can try for your self. I have been using symantec corporate edition anti virus for a long time now and I feel very safe in using it.

To disinfect, I recommend you run the online scanners reviewed here: http://onestopsecurity.blogspot.com/ When you're done, you can install McAfee SecurityCenter as Jonny79 recommends. AOL offers it for free: http://safety.aol.com/isc/index.adp?

You can use Symantec Anti Virus. You can automatically download updates and have a real time virus scan. That is what I use at home. I am free from any virus or what so ever.

I use McAfee Security Center. I have used it for years and I have never gotten any virus'. I strongly suggest it.

Hey hempindia Personaly i'm using AVG 7.5 full updated, and Spyware Terminator full updated too. And with these 2 programs, i never get some virus, or spyware. These 2 programs are realy good. If you are interested, try download them somewhere, they are FREE.
