Ok I got my 10 month old son the busy ball popper by playschool for christmas. He opened it this morning and got all exicted. Being a mother I just could not wait to get it opened and assembled for him to see the joy on his face when the balls popped up in the air; but it is not working all followed all the instrustions and put new batteries in it and all it will do is play the music. Does any one have one of this and have any adivice to get it working before I go fight the return lines. Very Disappointed Mother.

Aww..that's so frustrating! I don't have any advice on how to fix it though, I thought about getting one but with the older boys I figured they'd just grab the balls and through them lol... One of the main gifts we got for the two boys is broken already...*frowning*...they had to take it with them to the family dinner and the older cousin broke it. It's fixable but that's not the point. I'm not happy that a brand new toy already has to be wrapped in duct tape.

We had the same rule growing up even though we didn't have too many family get togethers on Christmas day...mostly Christmas Eve...but sometimes some of the other grandkids would be at one grandparents or the other while we were visiting too. His family apparently never worried about it and so they went ahead and brought some of the new toys anyway...and of course it was one WE bought rather than one s/o parents bought (we live together). I had 32 cousins on my moms side which is why whole family get togethers were rare...my dad's side was smaller, only 14 of us, but they didn't all get along. I have cousins I've never even met.

we were never allowed to bring toys to christmas dinner for that reason...all the kids would fight over things (i grew up with 17 cousins - so it was a crowd!)...eventually all the girls got one thing, all the boys another...made it easier on EVERYBODY!

I am a disappointed mom too. I bought my daughter a camcorder for kids. It was $40. when we opened it up, we recorder her for not even a minute and it was full! The camcorder also feels very cheap. I am taking it back to the store for a refund...it is junk. Hope you can get your toy working~ it is a disappointing day when the toys are not working!

I was lucky. I convinced my daughter that it wasn't that great of a gift, so she has decided to take it back. She will be happier with something that is made a bit better. The day ended up wonderfully. Hope yours did too. I like the idea of getting all the presents and putting them together before Christmas! That way if they are crappy, we can send them back before the return rush.

HI hun check for a demo button somewhere on the toy or a tab that you need to pull out. I had the same problem with a toy I got for my son a few years ago and when I returned it they were like well you didn't pull the tab out LOL

Oh, this sort of thing happening is very disappointing. Your poor son must have been so excited to get his lovely present then annoyed because it didn't work properly. I hope that you either get it working or you get a replacement. This might be your best option if the shop you bought it from would take it back and you could get another that works perfectly. My 7 month old so got a toy train suitable from 18 months! I like age appropriate toys. Someone gave him a huge toy and didn't provide any batteries when it needed 3 of these to work. He took the batteries away from another present that someone gave him. Good luck getting your son's Christmas present working properly or replaced.

I always put the toys together before we open them to make sure they are going to work. I have bought to many things that had defects and didn't want my kids disappointed when they could not play with their presents Christmas morning. I hope you are first in line to return the item. I have seen those ball poppers they are really cute.

That is a good idea. I am thankful that he is to young to remeber that it did not work but I will do that next year. I would hate for the same thing to happen again. Thanks!!
