I thought the movie 1408 was okay, but I loved the short story. Yes, they did put in an extra little something into the movie that wasn't in the book, and that was good, but I guess I just like what my minds-eye saw a lot better than I liked what the director for the movie did. As for The Mist, I've not seen nor read it. But if it's a good story, please let me know and I'll take a little trip to the library. Happy reading!

OH! This must be one I missed. Was it written under his pen name Richard Bachman or his real name? Is in in a selection of short stories or in a novelette? I thought I had read them all. Is this (1408)the original name of the book? I will have to put this on my list of books to look for. Thanks for reminding me of it. P.S. I think all books writen by him are worth reading...so I would say read the book before viewing the movie. You'll see why when you do see the movie.

Wouldn't ya know, I can't find the book right now, but I'm pretty sure it's a compilation of short stories called Everything's Eventual. It's by Stephen King, not under his pen name of Richard Bachman, but I've read the Bachman Books and they're really good too. I just got done with Bag of Bones by S.K. and I loved it!

It is a short story in a collection of works...Everythings Eventual....And thew mist is in skeleton crew... I liked the short story but not as much as the movie....i don't know why...i usually don't like the movies...after the books, maybe its because of the shortness of it...oh well hope you can find The book it has alot of great little stories in it.

Somehow I must have missed that one . Will have to look for it . Did he use his real name or was it by Richard Bachman. Stephen King is one of my favorite and I guess a lot of his books whether short stories or long will be made into movies. I heard a rumor about "Cell" going to be made into a movie too.
