Now I've heard everything! People are just nuts. An Indian Holy man who claimed to have healing power in his leg, was attacked by two men. They came to talk about his powers, got him drunk, and then they amputated his leg and took it with them. Now, just what in the world were they thinking? What would they have done with the leg? They had to know people would notice them carrying around someones leg! That is just crazy! http://www.arcamax.com/weirdnews/s-279714-105728

OMG, how stupid is that? People are so desperate aren't they..I do not know if any power was in his leg or not, but even if it was ,it would be no good detached from his body..When you think that you have heard it all, then something comes along that is even a greater shock...You are right this is very crazy..

Ya OK I read it and I would say it serves right to both the old man and the two gullible youths (if and when they are caught i.e.). India is teeming with such conmen who claim magical and medicinal healing powers within themselves and also with such gullible (not necessarily illiterate) people who would rush to such ‘holy men’ and give up anything and everything in order for some supernatural cure. While the realm beyond science and its powers are still debatable, my belief is that no holy men would have such a penchant for drink that they would drink with anyone and everyone. Certain Hindu religious practices do require the consumption of liqueur but that is done strictly during certain rituals and never openly. Then also, holy men who have attained that higher level of spirituality are very much in control of all their faculties and would never lose their senses over a few drinks.

Thta is so sad! I'm thinking whatever higher being might have given healing powers to the leg, would make sure it didn't work for the thieves. I bet he is glad his privates didn't have powers - ouch!

Stupid stuff like this happens when people get drunk. He should not have been drinking so It is partly his fault. However, it would be terrible to loose your leg like that.

That is so crazy, not to mention...GROSS! Who in their right mind would want to walk around with the bottom half of someone's leg? ICK! I don't think those guys have the capacity to think, at least not rationally.

I don't know what's wrong with people nowadays and why they would do such a thing.People are sick these days.I think if they get caught their leg should be amputated too.

That is just bizzare! What do they think that if they have the leg that they would obtain the healing powers? I think not! Just when I think I have heard it all, there is another story such as this blanketing the news.

There will never be an explanation for superstition and fanaticism... people live with so much fear in their lives that they scramble for anything that will make them feel safe. Having lost a leg (I got mine back, though!), I truly feel for the holy man... and I hope he DOES have miraculous healing powers!

It takes all kinds to make the world go around. This is absolutly nuts, in my mind. Your right, what would they do with a leg. How would they keep it for very long without it rotting. The smell when it rots would be horrible. Where do you find this kind of story. Do you check all the news stations to find these news stories. I have noticed that the last 10 discussions were about news clips. I get them all in one email because you posted them all in the same day.

i had to laugh when i read this post.. not at the man losing his leg but at the thought the two had of doing such a thing for such a reason.. even if this man had healing power in his leg, what makes them think it would work after the leg is removed.. or to think they had the skill or ability to use it in such a case.. but ya to cut a mans leg off is nothing short of crazy for any reason.. i mean sure if you wanna torture someone that would be good but really.. why take a man's leg?! its only a joke to say we have 3!! we dont have a spare!!
