Both companies tell you that they have superior web downloading, and superior surfing. The IE7 vs. FireFox debate is just as heated as the Micrsoft Vista vs. Mac 0S X debate. My question to you is- do you really see a different between the two web browers? Is one truely more superior then the other? What do you believe?

They both have their advantages. Firefox is generally a bit faster--though still not as fast as Opera--but it sometimes hangs during page transitions. This is really annoying, and it happens regardless of what OS you run it on; only thing you can do is refresh several times (make sure you copy to the clipboard any text you might have typed beforehand) until the lazy "fox" wakes up. But most open source advocates won't tell you this. Internet Explorer is the de facto standard. There are things that won't work with any other browser; one thing I could give you right offhand is online scanners (except Trend). Firefox supports popular stuff like ActiveX controls and even SiteAdvisor, and also offers a plugin called NoScript that can help shield you from malicious JS programs (you have to maintain the whitelist yourself). It also offers a plugin called Foxmarks. You can maintain your own library of bookmarks from Firefox with this plugin, and access this library from any other computer just by logging into your account. These are just a couple of the many extensions available. IE7 is inherently less vulnerable to attack than Firefox. But it's also the biggest target, giving other browsers a slight advantage of obscurity. If you use Vista, however, IE7 runs with limited privileges, making it that much safer. That having been said, Firefox is my default browser. I have lots of bookmarks, and like having them kept up automatically for me. I also like how Firefox and its plugins automatically check for updates, and how you can restore a session in Firefox after your computer crashes.
