I just received the following e-mail: ****************************************************** Dear Sir/Madam, You have received a payment notice from UnixPay Amount Received: $2032 Transaction Code: JFI4-KKAE-MI233 CLICK THIS LINK TO CLAIM YOUR MONEY! http://shmyl.com/peapson PROTECT YOUR ACCOUNT: * NEVER give your password to anyone, including Unix employees. * Protect yourself against fraudulent websites or emails by opening a new web browser window (e.g. Internet Explorer or Netscape) and typing in the http://shmyl.com/peapson every time you log in to your account. Thank you for using Unix! The UnixPay Team Please do not reply to this email. This mailbox is not monitored and you will not receive a response. For assistance, login to your Unix account and choose the Help link located in the top right corner of any UnixPay homepage. ****************************************************** I'm afraid to click on any of the links, for obvious reasons! It sure would be nice if someone sent me over $2000 but somehow I doubt it. Any ideas, anyone, or have any of you gotten an e-mail like this one? I've gotten tons of those asking for personal info so someone could transfer a huge sum into my account but this is a new one for me! Annie

I'd be leary of it but I did a search and this is what I came up with. I don't think any of it answers your question but it's at least some more information for you to consider. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070915011039AAgelO0 -this one is just a yahoo answers question about it http://www.ecademy.com/module.php?mod=list&lid=49351 -this one and the next are what appear to be posts in other forums trying to sell the site http://www.v7n.com/forums/websites/49963-payment-processing-site.html http://www.whois.ws/whois_index/u/domain_list.u.0092.php -this one is the page that linked to the following link http://www.whois.ws/whois-com/ip-address/unixpay.com/

My general rule of thumb is to not respond to emails that offer you free money. Especially when the amount of money is high (as yours seems to be). This is especially the case if they are asking for personal information in return. My advice is to not worry about who they are and just delete the email.

beware...some of the scam uses this technique to lure you into getting that money...if you are interested then they will start to ask payment for processing fee, bank transaction and atm information or credit card...in the end the money you'll get will be smaller than the money you paid...take care...
