For the past two months, I have been suffering from severe back pain. The centre of my spinal cord pains a lot. My cousin brother is a physiotherapist and he asked me to do some exercises which initially reduced the pain but was no use after few days. Some of my friends say that this is due to the reason that I ride bike for almost 80 miles on a single day. Does anyone know how to cure this?

If you started doing the bicycling suddenly and did not build up to it, I imagine it could cause back pain. So can sitting at the computer in a poorly designed chair. I would take some NSAIDs and stick to the routine given by the PT. I hope you feel better soon. Rest your back a little and build back up to the bicycling. See if your seat is adjusted properly.

There probably isn't a way to "cure" your back pain, I know there hasn't been much to help mine. I'd have to agree with your friends that riding bike for almost 80 miles isn't going to do your back any good! Maybe if you stopped that, or cut back a bit at least, it would help. Also, I'd recommend seeing a chiropractor, that helps me somewhat. Have you had an MRI done to see what the problem is? That's the best place to start. Annie
