Does her step-fathers income affect the amount of SSI my daughter receives?

My daughter receives SSI based on my husbands(her step-fathers)income. I have heard conflicting reports that my husbands income should have no baring on how much SSI she receives simply because he is not her natural father. I was also told the amount of SSI depends on household income. Can anyone clarify this?

it is household income including child support my niece gets a whopping 86 bucks a month and she has some pretty serious problems i dont agree with the way they figure it some childrens problems are severe and obviously the parents dont make enough to cover the costs and we all know how insurance does i think they should pay it based on the childs needs
