I am very interested in this type of work. I would like to hear from some people who do this type of work. I want to know what you do. I want to know how you got your job. What are the requirements that you have to meet? Thanks for all the answers that I know will come.

I started doing that, some one will send me a list of assignments they need done and will send there phone calls to me. It usually takes about 4 hours a day and it is quite fun. Sometimes you need just good communications skills, other times they want you to have some business background or education, but it is easy and lucrative. However the jobs are hard to find. That are real anyway.

I wish I could find one. How much do you get paid if you don't mind telling? I could definitely stay home then.

It depended ont the project and for how long it would last. Like I did a 10 week assignment that paid 16 dollars per hour and it meant I had to have a special program on my computer to keep track of who was calling which company

How did you find this position. I have been looking in all sorts of places for work to do from home and have been so far unsuccessful. Any tips?

I have been looking for various platforms for such jobs but it is very difficult to get if you are new. There are a few requirements in such jobs like you need to have high proficiency in microsoft office suite and should have good understanding of computer and internet. Also you should possess good administrative skills.I have been applying for such jobs for the past few months but due to the lack of experience I have not been successful.

Have you tried getafreelancer? There is a banner at the bottom of my blog if you want to check it out. They have all kinds of freelance jobs. It is free to join also.

Yes , I am already a member of GAF and got few responses from buyers but like I said I have no success due to lack of experience.I am not a gold member and 15 bids limit for each month is very low so I am planning to upgrade my account and become a gold member. What about you. I am also a member of other freelancing sites but not been successful so far .Still trying my luck :)

I upgraded for one month. I have gone back down now. I already have the 3 jobs so I am kinda busy right now. I don't have time for any other jobs so I am not bidding. Working full time puts a damper on the online stuff.

Hi there, I'm a VA and have had my business since 2003. Being a VA is not a job, but a business, as we are self employed independent contractors/freelancers. I personally do secretarial and transcription work, but there are so many niche areas that VAs can specialise in, you would be surprised. As far as skills, you need enough skills to adequately perform in your niche area of service. I never take on a client if I can't help them properly, I would rather recommend them to another VA then drag the crediblity of the industry down. This site http://www.virtual-assistant-advice.com has a myriad of info, including a page on all the areas a VA can specialise in. Just run down the navigation bar on the home page and there is so much information to be learnt. Good luck in your venture. Kind regards, Sandra

Hi! I have been working as a virtual customer service rep for almost a year now. I went to www.sohojobs.org and was pleased with the service. I was able to apply directly to companies that are hiring virtual assistants, customer service reps, etc. I think it is worth checking out. I believe it is what you are loooking for. I currently take pledge calls for PBS Stations around the US and pledge calls for St Jude Children's Research Hospital. I have recently been hired as a Discussion Assistant also for a web-based company. I have the flexibility to work for both companies from my home :o) I hope this helps ~ Teri K "working from home thanks to sohojobs.org"
