I was just wondering if people want to share the nicknames that they give thier kids (or nicknames that you had as a kid) The majority of people give nicknames to thier kids so I would love to hear what they are and if there are any reasons behind them. I will start by telling my names for my kids... For my daughter... As a baby she got: munchkin, cheeky monkey, chunky monkey, angel, jelly bean, missy moo - I think there were a few others... she still gets Angel & Jelly Bean For my son: munchkin, munchkin boy, little man, mr man Looking forward to hear all your nicknames :)

I had to respond to this one - my oldest son is 19 (20next month) and it has been well over a year that he worked one summer for a builder - and we nicknamed him "Tilda the Builder" His Name is Matthew and we sometimes call him Matilda (well I don't know where that came from) but anywho - it STUCK - when he calls I say - the "BUILDER" is one the phone...Isn't it funny how nicknames stick - when you can't come up with anything new - well the old one is good.

That would depend on my daughters mood. She has been 'MY Love'.She has been Pumpkin and sweetie too. But when she is not in a good mood and having a tantrum things change. She becomes 'Captain Cranky Pants' and she certainly doesn't like that. Plain ole 'cranky pants' doesn't win mr any points. But it does get the point across.I love her forever. So most of the time its sweetie.

When my son was small I tagged him with the nickname Tiger. He carried that for a very long time as he grew up. Of course there came a time when he looked at me and told me to knock off calling him that. I went to my Mom's awhile after that and he came with me. My Mom called him Tiger and he didn't say a word to her. When we got back in the car and I asked him why he didn't tell her he didn't want to be called Tiger he looked at me and told me she was the only one allowed to do that. When I was in High School my friends called me either Junie or Junebug. For a long time after I graduated High School I was just called by my given name. I work at a grade school and just started working there. One of the kids looked at me and called me Junebug and boy did that bring back memories.

I think munkey or monkey is common because our children are like them. They are jumpy and full of energy they are curious and ask a million questions. They keep us on our toes by climbing shelves literally lol... You have to keep your eye on them so they don't get into trouble. And sometimes they do fling poo too (no I'm just joking abuot that, I hope you laughed1). smiles ;)

"Monster Sh*t" LOL all five got called this at one time or another "Fa*t Flower" LOL all five got called this as well. "Glennard Skynard" my son's name is Glenn. "Punkin" this one was mostly the youngest two, the twins, when they were little "Frat Brats" my twins, who are 11. "Womb-Mates" also my twins, nickname I gave them to tell other people when they ask that age-old silly question,"Are they twins?"

My oldest daughter's nickname has always been Bird or Birdy. This is from when she was a few days old and I would feed her. When she would root for the bottle she looked like a little birdy. She is 11 now and I still call her that and she still responds to it. My 14 month old son's main nickname is Baby Doo. I think that name came about when I was watching some type of talk show and this lady was talking about how she has a "honey do list" for her husband, as in honey do this and honey do that. I don't know I just started calling him Baby Doo after that and it has stuck. When he was little he had a bunch of nicknames like Babaganush, Guggenheim, Gee (sounds like the 'ge' sound in gear and geek.) My mom calls him Tiger because his name is Tyler and it sounds kinda like Tiger. My mom used to call me Mojohowitz. I hated it and have no idea where it came from. My dad used to call me Missy Peppersnitch because my name is Melissa and my maiden name sounds like peppersnitch.

When my oldest was little and getting into everything, I'd call her Missy! For example, "You better not touch that, Missy!" lol! My brother used to yell at me all the time and tell me that she was going to start thinking her name was Missy! When my youngest was born, she was very small, so we started to call her "peanut" from the very beginning. The funny thing is, she's allergic to peanuts! I still call her peanut once in a while, and she'll just laugh at me!
