I want to lose weight and over the last few months, have put some weight on, due to not being to get out and move because of the snow. I have tried to cut out on the carbs, but in winter it seems I get hungry. So I was thinking of using Slimquick to jumpstart so then I can lose weight and then overcome my slow metabolism. So anyone who has used it, did it help, did you have to follow a diet plan along with it, was the food easy to get ---I live in Manitoba, where it is cold here right now. Was there any side effects? Please let me know.

Yes i have tried that, they changed the name it use to be slimfast..Anyway they recommend that you drink one for breakfast, and lunch and eat a sensible dinner..To tell you the truth it did not work for me, but it might for you..I have found that eating from the weight watchers diet is the most reliable diet that actually works so that is what i do when i gain a few pounds, and i have gained over the holidays so i am following the weight watchers right now...All i can say is to try it and who knows if might work well for you..

Thanks. I did not know what it was called before. I have to watch my carbohydrates, not the ones from vegetables, but the ones from breads and pasta. I have tried the weightwatchers diet, but I also need an appetite suppresent. When we our New Years's dinner, everyone was full except me.

I think Slick was confused because Slimquick is a pill, not a drink.

I've tried Slimquick and didn't have much luck with it - I have also tried SlimFast which is a different product actually and it didn't do anything thing terrific either. I firmly believe that eating healthy, fruits, veggies, and low carbs (NOT no carbs) and high protien then adding some excersice such as your other discussion on dancing is the best way to drop weight, and keep it off. Poping some pills or drinking some fancy drink may help a little but a change in life style is the best.

In the spring and summer I have no problem. There are plenty of fruits and vegetables and I can go for long walks, but it is the fall and winter that is the problem. I do have salads, but apparently I have such a slow metabolism that I need something to jump start it, and the evenings are the worse for me. That was when I tend to eat my carbs. I have not tried SlimFast yet. I know I tried those diet bars and they worked, but then I had to have a light meal as well. And we are on a budget and some of the food suggestions were out of our budget. I guess I can do Slimquick with a sensible eating plan so instead of losing one pound a week I can increase it to three.

I never had bulemia, it is just that I find it hard to get down past a certain weight, and I think a high protein low carb would be the best for me. If I eat eggs or meat for breakfast, I am not as hungry.

Oh I know what your going through - I'm in Michigan so also have the fall and winter battle along with budget problems I do think the best luck I've had is 'high protien' low carbs - actually those late night cravings or hunger pains are best fixed with a piece of cheese, eggs (I keep hard boiled in the fridge just for that), or even a spoon of peanut butter. I might mention, for almost 20 years I suffered from bulimia - actually before it had a name but I binged and purged and at 5 foot 10 inches my normal weight was 125 - I went into panic mod if I went above that. I was not healthy and although I still have urges I have managed to keep my weight under control (now tipping the scales at a healthy 150-155). I have tried everything under the sun when it comes to 'dieting' but high protien, low carbs, and a little excersice have been the most successful.

I need to lose a few pounds too, I had been losing and then I quit smoking. That did it, the weight came back. I was and still am drinking green tea. The green tea helps boost your metabolism and is also full of antioxidents, that helps your immune system. Good luck, I don't know anything about the Slimquick.

http://www.supplementcritic.com/reviews/slim_quick Here is a link to reviews people have written about the product. A lot of people said it made them very jumpy. I personally haven't tried it. Good Luck.

I will have to see if it contains some of the same ingredients as in HydroxyCut, I used HydroxyCut extreme and it made me queezy and I lost lots of potassium. I also am a solid build rather than a puffy fat build. Some of the reviews made me cautious so I will do a comparison with the other product that made me lose weight but also made me sick. I need a appetite suppresent though especially in the evenings.

I have used slimfast but I think this is the same thing you are talking about. I used it, at first, to lose weight and then later to just maintaine my weight. When I fist started using it I used the milkshake in the morning at around 7am. I would have a piece of fruit for a snack around 10am and then I would eat the slimfast bar for lunch with a can of diet coke. I then had some melba toast, about 4 pieces, for an afternoon snack. For supper I would eat a normal meal but I would stuff myself on salad first, then eat my meat and 1/2 potato and hot vegetables. Since I had a sweet tooth, in the evening I would have a weight watchers cake. They come in individual packages and I would buy the chocolate ones. I lost 35 lbs. in about 4 months. After that, for about 10 years, I just had the shake for breakfast just so I could maintain my weight. After about 3 years of that I quit drinking them all together and now over the last 10 years I have put most of the weight back on. So if your going to start this kind of diet my advice is to maintain it after you have lost the weight by keep drinking the shake for breakfast. It jump starts your metabolism every morning.

Thank you. I will remember that. I have not bought any yet, I used another brand, but I do need to jump start my metabolism since it is slow. I do not know whether I will get the shakes or the bars though. I like lots of water and tea with my meal, so I might get the shakes.

I tried Slimfast a few years ago. It's absolutely disgusting--I think, at least then, their plan was that you'd lose weight because you couldn't stand the stuff. And, with the whole "shake for breakfast, shake for lunch" thing you might end up eating more since it doesn't actually feel like food. www.discoveryhealth.com has lots of healthy recipes if you sign up for National Body Challenge.

Suspenseful, Which did you end up using, Slimfast(shakes and bars) or Slimquick(pills in an aqua and white box)? I want to try the pills. The commercial I just saw said it helped 6 ways. Stress, hormones, water, appetite, energy and metabolism. That sounds interesting to me. Has anyone tried the pills? I want something to work for me! I am desperate and depressed about my weight and chubbiness.
