Okay, I downloaded it to my desktop and logged in. But so far, I do not see anything real special about it. When I am on Firefox, I can not even access my MSN e-mail. What makes it so great? Can I make it my homepage? I tried to make Google my homepage, not too long ago and it was messing up my entire computer. So I want to be in the loop about Firefox. Can someone explain it in laymans terms for me?

I use IE and have not really had any problems with IE. Its Windows Vista that I have alot of problems with and I think if any programs I use are not compatable with Vista, then I have computer issues -

I believe that Mozilla and Firefox are different names for the same thing. Yes, they are like IE, only they are said to be better. I have never used IE though. So there is no way for me to compare them.

Hah, Firefox is a stable browser, unlike IE7 on XP. It's safer, more reliable and it isn't "clunky."But there is Opera. This monster is even better. but not well known. You can choose if you want pictures to load or not and stuff like that. Opera gives you "control" over browsing the net. It's quite interesting on its own. Firefox is the safe and simple one. Opera is the safer and more (for the lack of a better word) "complicated" one. Internet Explorer is just an illegitimate child of the both with the blood of Netscape:P

So you are saying that Opera is more complicated than Firefox? Well then I will not even try Opera yet, because Firefox is running me crazy.

Well not really complicated... more like complex. It takes some time getting used to and it has some nifty features. But hey, if you're happy with IE use it. Sometimes changes can be for the worse and for the better.

Safari runs best on MAC OS, though I haven't tried Safari3 yet. It has got better reviews recently.

I have heard many people love Firefox, but I don't like it at all. I much prefer Internet Explorer. I had nothing but problems when my default was set to Firefox. I changed it, and now I never use it. I could never get my email to work correctly when I was using Firefox! I hope someone can help make it work for you though!

That is a big problem for me. I don't even know how to access my MSN mail through Firefox. If I could figure that part out, I would be willing to stumble through figuring out the rest.

Firefox for one is an open source which is more reliable than internet explorer. It is more sufficient and secure and has less issues when generating critical errors like Internet Explorer does. You won't experience much problems when it comes to popups as well. I've been using it for a good 4 years now and still recommend it to this day.

Four years? I had no idea that Firefox had been around for so long. Well, I hope that I can get the use to all of the extras soon. It seems like a lot of fun.

Firefox is way better than internet explorer because of their massive add-ons you can download on their site. Think about downloading videos from youtube in a zap, something very hard to do with internet explorer. Firefox is also free.

You are the first one to say that you like internet explorer better. But, I have never used internet explorer for anything either. This makes things even more confusing for me. I do not understand the benefit of using these. But, I feel like I am now missing something.

All I KNOW are layman's terms! I just downloaded it last week and I really do love it. I like the tabs and being able to have so many windows and not getting all the errors like I did with IE. I really don't know what the problem would be with you MSN e-mail. My e-mail isn't affected by my browser so that's not a problem for me. What browser did you have before? I can still go to my IE, in fact there was one site I went to earlier tonight that I had to use IE for. Annie

all i can say is about my experience. this is only about the comparison of internet explorer and firefox. internet explorer once became corrupted or damaged even if you uninstall or reinstall it, it will be still corrupted, and you can never used it within 24 hours... like what i have experience and i needed to wait 24 hours before internet explorer became workable the firefox if became corrupted just uninstall and reinstall it and that's it, you can use again for internet connections so far that is just all my opinion

I can't remember what it was that I downloaded, but Firefox came with it and I wasn't impressed. I wish someone would let me know what is supposed to be so great about Firefox. I didn't really try to make the most of it I suppose, but I just didn't groove with it. I'll keep my Yahoo homepage because it's simple. :P

I totally agree with you. I tried Firefox and I was not real impressed by it either. I downloaded the things that they reccommended and now I wish I could start over without them. To me, it is way more complicated than it needs to be. I know that it has a lot of new and advanced features, but I just do not need all of that.

well the biggest thing about firefox that i like is about the extensions that it supports... you can have several extensions that will make your like online very easier..than ever before.. but even i dont like firefox that much...but i rather use opera...if you ask me..the best browser is opera..

I guess I will have to check out Opera too. I want to decide which one is best. I already see that Firefox is quite complicated, hopefully, opera will be better.

Firefox has now emerged as the premiere browser since Microsoft's IE has some security incompatibility issues with Windows XP and Vista. So, with that being said, it would really be up to the users on how are they going to familiarize themselves using the firefox as oppose to what we have been using way back since firefox. Its all about getting used to it eventually.
