Read or Make a book

I'm starting to write a book, i'm at page 3, I allways had the imagination to get the room I am to listen to me, or get an A+ at writing stories, but I actualy never read a book, what do u think about that?
I have an editor that will publish my book anyways and will make the difference at my gramma that I need.

Personally, I think its better if you haven't read a book at all before starting one of your own. There is a tendency that you may compare your work with other books rather than concentrating on putting all your imagination and writing it in your own book.
I also considered writing a book about myself but I always end up comparing mine to other books that's why I have yet to start making my book just of the thought that maybe my book isn't better or can't compete with other books in the shelf.
