UP centennial kick-off - were you there?

Last night, I was with my blocmate/friend at UP Diliman. I arrived with my aunts and nephew. My entourage did not linger, while me and my friend Mae waited until the fire works display was done. From the university ave./quezon hall – where Diliman’s oblation is, we went to explore who were at the “back stage” of the ampitheatre… there we saw the orchestra playing, then I asked my friend that we just observe and roam around the ampitheatre. There we observed lots of alumni and students. I even told her that the gathering was in a way different because everyone from the activists to people who work for the government came together without any protest… it was like a re-UNIFICATION thing. We just observed and observed while we reminisced college days, then during the last portion of the concert where UP naming mahal was sang, we noticed that we were not that united as to which hand to be lifted while singing the hymn, we saw some choir members to sing the using while lifting their right hands, while others with their left hands, that made me lift neither. So, we tried to analyze, while the others sing, my theory is: “could be that UPLB grads were used to lift the left arm because most of UPLB studes then were hard core activists”. Have you witnessed the fireworks display?
