Hello my husband is pushing 400 pounds and he wont do anything about it. I was wondering about this bypass surgery everyone keeps talking about. Can somone give me some information on it. Dose the insurace cover it? If not how much would we have to have up front. And where is the best place to get this done. I'm worried, something needs to help him. ~WiteNgtOwl~

The only bypass surgury is Coronary Artery Bypass. But I don't think that is what you are talking about. If he needed this his doctor would be telling him about it. I think that you mean Liposuction. (to help reduce his weight). I can help you out if I know a few things. Where do you live? Do you have a fair amount of money as the insurance companies do not cover this cost as its not considered medically needed? Just let me know and I'm sure I can find out some information for you. With you husband pushing 400 pounds he is going to have to start losing some. It is a big health risk. If he is like this now after Liposuction you will have to work for it or it will come back. The problem with weight its a vicious cycle. Even going for a 30 min walk a day helps. But he has to want to do this and have the motivation as well. Let me know what you want to do and what info you need.

I guess I should of been more pacific. Its Liposuction, or gastric bypass. I live 2 hours North of Salt Lake City Utah. I just want to know what I need or who I can contatct to see if my husband can get it. His self esteem is low and I think if he lost some weight he would feel so much better. Thanks for any info you can give me. ~WiteNgtOwl~
