Local Laws

Some of the local laws in Virginia are silly or go to far.
If a person is a nosey neighbor or a person who takes things too far calls the police because your child is crying or walking to a neighbors house to sleep over or whatever.Even thou the police find that it is unfounded,not a child in danger it does not matter the still have to call CPSA.And even if CPSA also finds it unfounded they have to put it on your record that you were suspected of child abuse.
Also in this state if you are renting a home and your landlady/landlord does not follow the lease you are still expected to follow your part of the commitment,even if you can't afford it now due to the landlady/landlord not following their part.
It is illegal in some counties to not have a second full size kitchen in a single family home.
If someone is stalking you and they continue to do so even after you have a court order against them.The police cannot do anything about until it is too late and they do something like hurt or kill you.
There are some really silly laws here and Iam sure there are in other states too.Tell me about some of yours.

i'm in a blue law state-we have all kinds of stupid ones.
don't cross a pig on train tracks on sunday.
no throwing pickle juice at trolleys.
can't smoke a pipe on the sabbath.
i think we even have a few against roosters.

It is illegal to put your garbage in someone else's garbage can even if you have their permission.
That is the only stupid law we have on our books right now.

OMG! That is VERY stupid.In the United States,we cannot give permission for someone to put something into our mailbox.Even thou we pay for them and maintain our own mailboxes,they are the property of the government as soon as there is an address connected to them.It is illegal for us to put anything in a person's mailbox,including the one's that go into the people front door.Excuse me it's my door,the stuff dropped into the mail slot goes onto my floor,that I have to clean up,so why can't I say what come's in there?

I think the law is the same here as far as having a court order against someone but they still can't do anything until it's too late and they do serious harm to you. Also the laws regarding child abuse seem to do more to protect the real abusers and harass good parents. I'm sure it's the same all over the great country of ours; some states may have more ridiculous laws than others but I'm sure we all have our share. Some of them have been on the books since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

I agree,some of the child abuse laws seem to help the real harmers and are against the ones that don't harm.

Most small communities has a couple of stupid laws and this is just a manifestation of the society at large. The law is an axx by the way. With stupid reduundant and bombastic language and mostly lacking in logic and brevity, it is no wonder that stupid local laws are prevalent.
