Big sister, little sister or one of each?

I am a big sister to a brother and sister. I love being the oldest (mainly because I know no different) if you could choose to be or have a little sister which would you choose? Or would you rather one of each?

I am a little sister to 6 older sisters and 2 older brothers. In many ways it is nice because I can look to them for advice or help when my mom doesn't understand. When I was young, though, I hated it. They got to do everything first, they got all the privileges, and I was still treated like a baby.

Wow Sc what a lovely big family you come from! I can understand why you felt treated like a baby. It is great that you have them to go to when needed. Older siblings sometimes miss out on this. I would love to have 9 children, only I don't think it will happen. My husband thinks I should be happy with the two I have. Don't get me wrong I love my kids, in fact I love them so much I wish I had more!

I think the big family I come from is part of the reason I only want one child. There were perks, don't get me wrong, but there were also some major disadvantages- two of the biggest being space and money. I was 15 before I had my own room, and we didn't do things like take family vacations because how do you take 11 people to Disney World? It just wasn't possible. I look forward to being able to take my son on vacations, let him grow up knowing what it feels like to have his own space, his own room, his own toys. He has lots of cousins to play with, so he won't miss out.

I think my sister likes being the youngest as well. I do like being the one to give the advice but sometimes it would be nice to know that I could go to someone who had been there before. Thanks for sharing and I hope you are enjoying your myLot experience

I'm in the middle so I'm a big sister and little sister. Growing up, I much preferred being the older sister...I was bullied often by my big sister. Now, though, I enjoy having my older sister.

I have a brother who is 4 years younger than me, hence making me a big sister. I think I would choose to have a little sister, there is always only a certain amount of things you can talk with a little brother.

Yes I know there are some things that I would never dream of discussing with my little brother yet do so without a second thought with my sister. Sometimes I wish there was someone older than me but then deep down I really like all the responsibility of being the eldest

Yes it sure can be tough sometimes being the eldest, especially if the younger ones run into trouble. I like setting an example though and being there for them when they need it. Thanks for stopping by and welcome to myLot
