I have had it. The price of pack of cigarettes is 7 dollars where I live. Even the pack of tobacco that I buy to roll my own is too expensive. Granddad grew his own. I watched him as a child. So I decided to grow my own now. 99 plants are allowed, legal in my country. I ordered seeds for 100 plants, a variety that grows in my country, cold climate. Name of the variety is Gaudertheimer. I have a yard and a big attic where I can hang up the leaves to dry. I will have to start the plants indoors in February because of the climate. I am looking foreward to this experiment. It will be the fun of the season and if all goes well I will save a lot, much more than with tomatoes and lettuce. Anybody here have some experience with tobacco? If not, wish me luck and that I will not get lung cancer. Happy mylotting!

i would think growing your own tabacco would be healthier for you. You wont have all the chemicals in that the big companies use. Keep us posted on how this works for you.

Nicotiana plants get tall and sticky. They will also produce millions of seeds. They will replenish themselves so you will never have to buy seeds again. Good Luck

I'm pretty sure it is illegal to grow tabbacco in my country and to be honest i thought this was the laws in most countries. I have seen tabbacco growing and i have bought chop chop which they sell here for about $20 - pound! that is crazy cheap, i would buy it more often but i think it is harsh and i dont enjoy it much. The government here has harsh penltys for growing tabbacco because they lose their huge tax on the product.
