Will someone intrude into my account?

For example, I opened my email account and left it log on for a few hours then I close the window without logging out. Will someone hijack my account since it is log on? What happens behind after closing the window without logging out?

Someone can reopen it with your account if you close the window directly without logging out.The reason is that so many system use cookies to store your account infomation and clean it by logout.So if you did like what you said,someone will login the system directly with your account without requesting username and password.It's very dangerous.
