Does anyone do some special thing to secure files on your computer. I know you can password protect any files you want with a few programs out there. I dont do it though. I also have a external harddrive, no password neeeded. How about laptops? For those who travel a lot?

yes, you can use a program called true crypt where you can make a like a virtual drive where you can put your data and be encrypted with different kinds of encryption level. using this program is great because it is very secure.

I only use the login password from my PowerBook, I don't keep account numbers in my financial software neither bring home reports from work - just an engineer. Got some contracts and revenue forms, thou no one would be interested on those. My external hard drive is full of music and backup of installation software.

attached?? I dont mean that , i mean any file on your computer can be password protected. Lets say you have a business folder on your computer with important business documents. You can password protect that file so no one can open or view the contents of the file unless you have a password.
