What do you think God looks like?

God - The ever-so cliched Almighty.

This is kind of a personal question. There are people of varying religions out there and from what you've gathered until now, what do you think the God that you believe in and cherish looks like...what do you expect to see?

I think my God is a benevolent presence that you know is there, can feel but not really see. I think in the presence of God you will feel great love and great peace and joy. I know many people who see God as an old man with a beard but I cannot even imagine what God looks like.

Do you kno that you sound really vague..its like something that may or may not be there. Com'on think for 2 mins and try to come up wit an image that embodies everything that you associate with God.

you know the bible talks about heaven as a mustard seed this tiny little seed that can grow one of the biggest tree in the forest. So if i was to describe something that you can not put into words such as God then humans have to put colors to it and faces with it and so on.We think as humans think. just like space is it so hard to believe that space has no end to it it is just a great nothing? But yet we can believe that and can't believe that God is a mass an energy and in a scientific formula made up of over 98 elements which is needed to create life. God has no reflection of image as we think being a human thinking that every wall has two sides and every door has a way in and out.Why do we desire to want to paint colors and try to make images like they did with the golden cow? Because our minds are not created to think outside the box.Truth... space is a great nothing and never begins and never ends truth... God is the creator of life. He is the 98 elements that makes all things possible. Are we created in his image? if you mean we have two legs and two arms and two eyes and a mind that can think and make decisions on our own and we surpass the animal instinct to survive then yes we are created in his own image. We as human's are creators just him except we are limited on our resources on what we can build we are stuck here on Earth a place that has a beginning and an end. So we could never be God like nor is there anyone here on this planet that is worthy of being followed and seen as being god like.So stop trying to picture what he would look like and believe he is there. Just like the air we breath it is invisible but it is there we can feel it and without it we would die....So how hard is it to believe in what you can't see or imagine?

Its very very hard to imagine something and just let it be....if God does indeed exist then theres some proof out there, yes there is...some formation of stars or some kind of anomaly...Futurama put forth a nice idea where God was a constellation. This whole believing business leaves me in a knot...its just not logical to just sit back and accept something just because a number of humans who came before me keep on saying that they feel something. You kno, theres the chance that you are wrong too.

Anyways God is a very personal idea and varies from person to person...a healthy mind will conjure up an image of what God is supposed to look like..start searching for yours!

Ok, let me try. When I was a pukka RC(Roman Catholic) kid going to mass (believe me, I was very young then) I used to think the priest was God and the altar boys were angels. The preist behaved like that and we were all supposed to obey him, LOL, so I can't be blamed for thinking like that. So, at that time, God looked like the priest--a pot bellied man with a receding hairline and a perpetual scowl with an occassional belly laugh. Ok, I somehow 'grew up'; church going became an occassional affair, and now God changed his form. He looked more like a Hindu, a man sitting in the clouds in a medtative posture, and smiling whenever we did something stupid. He looked an Indian like me with wheat complexion, and almost bald like a brahmin. :) Now, I am completely grown up (I hope so!) Church is distant now, though I hear the bells sometime and smile at the parish priest. And how my God has changed. Funnily, when I think of God as someone who will give me all that I, as a human being require, God looks exactly like Jesus, not the weepy Jesus of the RCs... a very strong Christ with a magnetic smile.. he is so beautiful. And when I think of God really deeply, all forms vanish, all words vanish, only feelings remain...and a sense of deep peace, love, security, and well-being :) Thanks for giving me the chance to talk about my God.

I think we cant see God so how God looks like is inappropriate to say but we can see, we can feel God everywhere around us,we can feel God, can see God in ourselves too. Try not to see God, try to search it everywhere, in yourslef and then you will realize that God is right here in your heart. Have a bless time.

This just sounds like the cryptic nonsense that is spread throughout the world so as to stop questioning the church.

I think we cant see God actually so how God looks like is not appropriate to say. Anyways, we can feel, can see God in the things He created, you can see God in yourself, can feel God in you.

i guess you posted two responses by accident..anyways your answer is vague and is the popular answer that anyone gives when aske 'where is your god'....the 'feeling God' is too cliched!....and it doesnt work either.

So you always like to be on this side of the curtain??...fine with me. What keeps our human race moving forward is our curiosity..when we sit back and decide its not supposed to be 'looked', then we enter into stagnation and thats not good for anyone.

oh really man has developed by observing the god's creation or god himself? man should go ahead by observing and concluding through gods creation.

I think He is like us. But He is perfect person and a very powerful person in this world. If we think that the president of any powerful country is powerful, then let us think that our God are million times more powerful than the president of the powerful country.

I don't think I can see Him. But in my experience, I can feel Him and have seen Him through the things he created. An artist is known for his creations. In addition, we are created to have tangible bodies while God is of other dimension. Our eyes can only see tangible things and we can only visualize those things we can see. Though I cannot see Him, I know that He is always the protecting us. And I'm thankful He gave me the priviledge to know and see Him though not visually.
