Kobe Bryant is showing his stuff right now, just in time before the second half of the season. He's the backbone of the lakers and one of the greatest players in the league. Will kobe's efforts for this season be enough to get him the MVP award for 08? well, he definitely is on my list for MVP.. Lets just see how the second half of the season unfolds.. but for now he's doin great for the team.. i'm sorry for what happened to bynum though.

I think that KB is deserving of the award. Yet he will be facing stiff competition from fantastic players like Chris Paul and LeBron James. I think if you take of any of those two from their teams they will surely flounder and have no opportunity whatsoever of making the playoffs. But KB is not only the teams essential player(scoring, leadership, intencity, focus...) but he is also the most complete player in the NBA. Their is no one in the NBA that plays harder than him, in both sides of the court.

I hope certainly hope not. Kobe is a self centered player. I want the winner to be someone who makes their team better not someone who is the whole team.

There is no denying that Kobe is one of NBA's exceptional players, being a scoring champion, and now, one of this season's steal leaders, it is possible that Kobe will be a true MVP candidate for this season. But, there are others who are also having a noise on the NBA MVP08 talks... for me, other candidates include Steve Nash... who, until now, is giving up NBA numbers. his PTS, FG%, 3PT%, FT%, and AST averages are unimaginable. Other candidate is Dwight Howard, at age 22, is having a career year, with high FG%, PTS, REBs, and BLKs. One notable player is Chris Paul, who i consider one of the best point guards this season. having 20+PTS per game and almost 11 AST per game, close to 3 STLs per game and one of the vital factor of the Hornet's respectable standing in the Eastern Conference. There are other notable players including LeBron James, Yao Ming, Baron Davis, Iverson, and many others that i've missed, who can also fill up the MVP candidate list. And i think that Kobe will have to defy a challenged role, to make him one of the top contenders in the MVP race.
