Anyone Have Any Idea Why This Happens?

I've had my 92 88 Olds Royale for four years now, and every year my driver side door freezes up in the cold. Not everyday however. I don't lock that door in the winter. Yesterday we had snow. I didn't have to work, but I went out and started the car and brushed it off. This morning I go out there and the door is frozen shut. I had to go in the house and heat water to unfreeze the door. So I went to work and my car sat from 11:30 am to 9:30 pm. It is like 0 out right now or something. Well don't ya know it was froze up again. I had to get in the other side. Now here comes the fun part. I had to brase my foot on the door and hold the door handle and kick the door to get it open. Anybody know how to stop car doors from freezing up in the winter? What do you do when this happens?
