Does your job have customers that repeatidly ask the same question? I used to work at Academy... one of the only stores that you can check out at customer service! We would have regular customers that would approach the counter, and ask every time if it was ok to check out here. Just makes you want to say didn't you just check out here yesterday and it was ok then why would you need to ask again today? Does anyone else have annoying, repitisious questions from their work, life experiences?

Ever work retail without having people ask annoying questions? I think that is a given. Just last night I was at a presentation and a guy kept asking the same question and he kept getting the same answer, but he just didn't get it. It was simple enough that there was no way he could have miunderstood the answer. He just didn't get it. That's when you just want to say - okay, this is not for you - good night and good bye, but you can't.

Doesn't that make you question the saying, "The customers are always right!" Most of the time the customers have no idea what is even going on. Most of all, they think they contribute so much to the company, but fact of the matter is that they are spending as much as the average customer!

That is so true - they say "I spend hundreds/thousands of dollars here a month/year and I should get (whatever they want)". As if that is really going to change the policy or that the person behind them doesn't do the same thing.

The layout of customer service is a box that has 2 registers at 2 corners on the same side. When only one person is working at one end with a line of atleast 3 customers, it would never fail that someone would go to the register with no one at it and wait... it's crazy that they can't realize where a line is, I know we were taught that in elementary school! I think there are appropriate times that you can just follow the croud! lol

Yes, anyone who can go through life with out working retail is truely blessed! Its not so much that we repeat the same question all day, just mostly when you start noticing you're repeating the same answer to the customer every time they come in. And yet that same customers claims to be the stores best customer, but feels he has to ask if he's allowed to check out at this location..when he did it 10 min ago! Thats what gets tough to handle! LOL Because I don't think you can find a job that you won't repeat the same things over and over again. Thanks for your comment!

Oh my I can understand your situation. I am working at Citibank here in our place. Yes, citibank got credit cards but our bank doesn't deal with it coz there is an agency who focuses on credit cards alone. And of course we encounter inquiries all the time about credit cards. That is still the ok part but when a client keeps on calling you to ask why does she have a penalty and I have given her the right number to call already for the nth time you would just want to strangle her sometimes. Urgh!!! There was 1 time a guy got angry because I gave him the number of the credit card agency and kept on insisting that why can't I answer his questions and why do i have to refer him to other people. I was really tempted to shout at him "Haven't I told you several times that we don't have anything to do with credit cards. Get Lost!" Well of course i cannot do that. Sometimes there are people who wouldn't just accept your answers. Grrr.

All the time. The thing with Academy is that you can't make payments at the store! So of course they get upset with you the small person behind the counter, when they should be gripping at the people who actually make our rules and regulations! Crazy how people think when they have never worked for a large corporation! As with everything else there are chain of commands!
